Community Partnership Award

MCCA, INCORPORATED

For the Work of Joseph J. Sullivan and Dawn Wilson

The Danbury Housing Partnership’s Community Partnership Award is presented to

MCCA, Incorporated for the work of Joseph J. Sullivan and Dawn Wilson.

Under Joe’s inspired leadership, MCCA has developed an array of services and housing

opportunities for persons who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. Dawn

has been a key contributor to the success of MCCA’s outreach, counseling, case

management and transitional housing services. Joe and Dawn’s combined efforts

have enabled MCCA to make unmatched contributions towards preventing and ending

homelessness in Danbury through the establishment of a range of programs including a

sobering center program, detoxification services, and the soon to be opened Sunrise

Terrace transitional housing development. Recently, MCCA has sought to expand its

commitment to ending homelessness by seeking to secure Next Steps funding to create

permanent supportive housing in Danbury. MCCA has also been a valued member of

the Greater Danbury Continuum of Care with Dawn serving on the Point-In-Time

Count workgroup, the Planning Workgroup for Project Homeless Connect and chairing

the Employment workgroup that will soon hold its first employment fair.
