Minutes for September 4, 2008

The meeting of the Committee on Housing and Community Development of the Danbury Housing Partnership was held in Danbury City Hall, Planning and Zoning Department conference room, 1^st floor, on September 4, 2008. Chairman Scalzo called the meeting to order at 2:10pm.

A motion to approve the minutes of August 7, 2008 was made by C. Barrows, seconded by D. Elpern, passed unanimously and placed on file.

Chairman Scalzo informed the committee that our next guest speaker for the October subcommittee meeting will be Bill Beattie discussing the Jericho Project and their properties.

Chairman Scalzo provided a detailed map indicating zoning districts and those properties and locations that have been discussed with guest speakers and among committee members. The map will be more focused on the properties in question for development regarding affordable housing, veteran housing, senior housing, etc., for subsequent meetings. Mr. Scalzo would like a more focused map to be available for our November meeting. Mr. Elpern will assist in trying to fine tune the map for all members.

Discussion and more information are requested regarding Chapter 124b on a new ancillary zoning incentives. Staff will try and provide more literature on this housing initiative.
