CLOTHING DONATIONS SOUGHT FOR PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT
The Danbury Project Homeless Connect Planning Committee is seeking donations of warm clothing to be distributed to people who are homeless at Danbury’s Project Homeless Connect to be held December 3, 2008 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Danbury Elks Lodge, 346 Main Street, Danbury.
You can do your part in the effort to address homelessness by providing needed clothing items for men, women and children. The Committee is especially seeking thermal underwear, socks, sweat shirts, sweat pants, scarves, gloves, hats, boots and jeans. Jackets and coats are also needed. New clothing or used clothing in good condition would be much appreciated and will help keep someone safe and warm this winter.
Please call Rachel Bond Torpey at 797-1210 ext 308 to make arrangements for dropping off items.
Project Homeless Connect is a one-day, one-stop community wide event designed to deliver services and hope to people experiencing homelessness or in danger of becoming homeless. It is an innovative approach in engaging citizens, non-profit organizations, government and the business community to partner together to end homelessness.
