David W. Deakin currently serves as Patient Advocate for the Bethel Health Care Center.  Mr. Deakin has enjoyed a long and productive career in business and government service.  Mr. Deakin is a former First Selectman of the Town of Bethel.  He also served as deputy commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Housing.  Mr. Deakin has been active in a volunteer capacity in a host of community organizations.  The Town of Bethel honored Mr. Deakin for his many contributions to the community by re-naming Bethel’s public school campus the David W. Deakin Educational Park.
