John W. Hoffer, former president of Viking Wiring Co. of Brookfield, is now enjoying an active retirement following a distinguished career in the business world.  Mr. Hoffer has been, and remains, active in serving to the community through participation in community organizations and institutions.  He has served as chairman of the board of Danbury Savings Bank and is director emeritus of the Danbury Hospital Fund, Inc.  Mr. Hoffer is a member of the Advisory Council of the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury; a member of the board of directors of Ann’s Place and a member of the Danbury Library Board of Directors.  Danbury Hospital honored Mr. Hoffer for his contributions to the community by establishing the John W. Hoffer Fund for Nursing Education in Oncology.
