Meeting Minutes

May 11, 2010

Milena called the meeting to order

 

Program Update

  • VASH: Veterans at the Danbury shelter were identified for the VASH.  Currently have 5 clients housed with VASH.  Looking to get more allocations

Point in Time Results:

The numbers were reviewed. The count was down from last year. There were 118 homeless compared to 126 last year. Plans to do an unsheltered count on June 3, 2010

 

Housing Inventory

 

  • Ten Year Plan: Updating information for the Common Council
  • Point of Entry :No report

 

HMIS: 

  • Reports:  Milena distributed the HMIS CoC monthly reports.  Milena reported that ARC will be running data quality reports and will be contacting agencies.
  • AHAR    No Report

 

HPRP: No new report.  HPRP continues to be very busy.

 

NOFA: 
Registration:  Milena reported that HUD has announced the CoC registration on e-snaps.  Milena will be registering the CoC.  Milena also provided an update on the Nofa process.  The NOFA will be announced after July first. 

Grant Inventory Sheet:  Milena reported that the Grant Inventory has been submitted to HUD.  There will be three Shelter Plus Care grants renewed and one SHP/HMIS grant.

 

Housing Inventory:  Milena reported that the NOFA committee is currently working on entering the Danbury CoC housing inventory and Point in Time count data into the HUD HDX data base.  The deadline is 5/31.

 

Hearth Act:  Tabled for next meeting

CoC Chairs:  Melina distributed the responsibilities of the Co Chairs of the Continuum for review.  The CoC agreed to vote in a new co-chair beginning of next year and will begin discussion in the fall.

Workgroups

  • Employment: No Report
  • Family Homelessness: The group held their first meeting to determine focus/mission of the group and to  discuss CoC efforts to reduce the number of unsheltered/sheltered homeless households with dependent children
  • Young Adults: No Report
